the Sisserou parrot. Known as "The pride of Dominica," it was the
perfect choice to use as an accompanying icon, highlighting the
brand’s authenticity.

After extensive research, drafts, and experimentation, KLRS developed an icon that seamlessly blended the themes of quick, tasty, healthy food with the authenticity of a Dominican establishment. The design features a strong, water-centred icon that ties it all together. But we weren’t done yet!

Next, KLRS focused on creating a colour palette that would capture
the essence of the brand. Up until this point, the designer had
worked with colours provided by the client. The blue pastel tones
were chosen to reflect Dominica’s unique sea colour, influenced by
its volcanic black sand beaches. The vibrant yellow version was
introduced to add energy and be used in areas where blue might not
be ideal. However, the logos still needed more life and vibrancy.

The logo required a tropical, fun font with plenty of character to complement its overall look and feel. Almaq Rough was chosen for its bold, punchy sans-serif style, with irregular letter shapes and sizes, and rough features reminiscent of a playful beach sign.
